| like a memory of a lullabye. | ||
| Slender reedy stalks sprout | ||
| rough whiskers | ||
| from each grain turning honey amber | ||
| under a Kansas sun | ||
| that leans into a wide blue tapestry | ||
| of daydreams | ||
| wanting nothing more than the rhythm | ||
| of willows waltzing | ||
| with sleepy breezes. | ||
