E. 10th STREET, 1969

Acidic basement mold wafts up
around rotted storm door crevices.
Corner house with a treed lot for kids to pick clover
and chase tabby cats.
Periwinkle blue Batchelor buttons and milkweed pods
beckon the curious.
This was when we played outside
and the rain barrel song echoed on our lips.
